Contact support

Open Profile → Settings → Contact support in Oratio, or email [email protected].

If you report a problem, include your app version, what you were trying to do, the approximate time, and the message you saw. You can find your version and installation identifier at the bottom of Settings. Please do not send passwords or payment card details.

What Oratio does

Oratio helps you practice speaking, with short speaking sessions, personalized feedback and focused exercises. After a scored speaking take, you can review your score and feedback on five dimensions: ideas, structure, fluency, language and confidence.

Some features and exercises depend on your version and practice language.

Choose your practice language

In Profile → Settings → Language, choose your practice language from those available. Your scores and speaking history are shown for the selected language. You can change whether it is your native language below the language selector.

Record a take

Open Speak and choose a format:

Follow the on-screen instructions and allow the microphone when iOS asks. During recording, keep the app open and your phone unlocked. Leaving the app while recording interrupts the take. During preparation, you can leave the app: the timer keeps running.

Microphone access is off

Open your iPhone’s Settings, find Oratio and allow microphone access. Return to Oratio and try again.

Microphone permission and permission to send your take for AI analysis are separate. You can manage the latter in Oratio’s Settings under Privacy → Analysis of my takes.

Analysis is taking time or failed

Analysis requires an internet connection. Keep your connection available and follow the status shown in Oratio. If an error offers a retry, use that action. Do not uninstall the app to fix an analysis problem: recordings and local history are stored on your phone.

If the problem continues, contact support with the approximate time, format and error message. Analysis time can vary.
